Me: oh the car rental place is only a mile from the dealership, maybe I can walk there - just one intersection to cross how bad could it be?

Wash Co covid numbers
Washtenaw County just released numbers of cases/million broken down by non-UMich affiliated individuals. I charted them up against the total numbers of cases/M in Washtenaw County
These numbers are a bit old unfortunately but gives a good picture of where we are.
Again, I stress Umich is testing a TON so these numbers probably do NOT reflect actual COVID infection concentrations
covid coming wave
If you and your loved ones are doing everything you can already, maybe stop reading now.
Hospitals across the US are getting inundated. In the previous surge we could send volunteer healthcare workers to the hot spots.
That can't happen when the whole country looks like this.
Dangerous days ahead, folks. Avoid any risky activities if you can. No in-person unmasked indoor gatherings of any kind.
Be good to yourselves
eBike locally for sale
Jim at Human Electric Hybrids is clearing out some bikes. The most interesting is this Urban Arrow Shorty which is a really unique eBike. Its a great deal for someone who just needs cargo and not kid hauling capacity.
Was talking with some other parents about local elections. Most didn't know what ward we are in (2!)
In order to know what ward you're in, you have to be registered to vote and then check your registration.
or, as a birdsite user mentioned, you can refer to this unlabeled low res map the city provides.
Why not a simple address lookup website? Go to the site, enter your home address, and it gives you your ward. Bonus if it tells you the next election and candidates running.
At work: Oncology nurse. In my free time: riding and fixing bikes, taking photos. (Not much free time as a father of two)
Find me drinking a coffee in the AM and a Manhattan in the PM.
