Researchers found a serious security vulnerability in Apple's M-series chips that would allow attackers to determine the encryption keys for crypto wallets, potentially iCloud accounts and other services using encryption. It affects the M1, M2, and M3 chips used in Apple desktops, laptops and tablets since 2020 and cannot be patched. The only solution lies with application developers who can take steps to mitigate the vulnerability and send updates for their programs to users. This leaves users at risk in the meantime.
